Who We Are

Strings of Worship is a string orchestra for young musicians playing violin, viola, cello, and contrabass. It is dedicated to providing musical enrichment to its members by promoting education, understanding, and enjoyment of the orchestral experience. Students work in a collaborative atmosphere with an emphasis on learning how to use the gift of music to praise and glorify Jesus Christ.

This is not only an opportunity for individual musical growth, but also to establish and develop friendships among young musicians growing in the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is our next generation of believers. As each student is trained on their instrument, they learn to play musically with worship songs to glorify God.

The Student Experience

Playing in an orchestra is a wonderful way to grow as a musician and build lifelong teamwork and collaboration skills. Foundational skills, including rounds, scale studies, music games, and fun repertoire will be emphasized. Scripture songs and texts will be learned.

The Director

Mrs. Diane Deck, a native of New York, began studying violin at age 9, and had various music instructors including Lance Premezzi of SUNY, Carol Cowen of the Hudson Valley Philharmonic, and Frank Mele of Woodstock, NY. A graduate of SUNY with a B.A. in music history and literature and an applied pedagogy in violin, Diane began teaching as a private music studio instructor in 1971. She was licensed in Administration, Supervision, and Instruction in grades K-12 in the state of OH in 1993.

Mrs. Deck has participated as a conductor of Reign Ministries Orchestra, Akron, OH, and violinist in Welsh Hills Symphony, Granville, OH, Granville-Newark Symphony Orchestra (COSO), Delaware, OH.

Mrs. Deck created the School String Program for Fairfield Christian School, Lancaster, OH, and also the String Program for Grace Christian School Blacklick, OH, where she retired after 20 years of classroom teaching.

Mrs. Deck now enjoys her home studio, where she is blessed with 30 very talented students playing violin, viola, and cello, ranging from age 5 to 76.

After much prayer, confirmation in Scripture, and desire to influence the next generation of children in the growth and admonition of the Lord, a new orchestra is birthed. May all praise be to glorify God.

“But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and forever!” - 2 Peter 3:18b
